3. | Corporate Social Responsibility Communıcatıon: Unıted Natıons Internatıonal Gırls' Day Semıotıcly Analysıs Of The “Freedom For Gırls” Advertısement Havva Eylül Yücel, Simge Ünlü doi: 10.5505/sec.2023.20592 Pages 1 - 20 INTRODUCTION: As a result of globalization and developments in communication technologies, it is seen that the degree of consciousness of individuals towards social an environmental events has pushed the institutions to act socially responsible. Today, institutions move away from purely capital-based approaches and and carry out corparate social responsibility for social, corparate purposes in order for corparate social responsibility affords to achieve the desire affect, communication processes must be managed correctly. Communication has an imported role in increasing the effectiveness of corparate social responsibility practises and maximazing the opportunitiest that arise on other element that plays significant role in the communication of corporate social responsibility practises is the chanel through wich social responsibility communication messages will be conveyed to target audience. Although, advertisement are used a common chanel in corporate, social responsibility communication, it has been percaived that studies in this area, are quite limited when the literature is examined, with this study it is sought to analyse, the advertisement prepared by the United Nations (UN) for the Freedoom For Girls initiative within the scope of International Day Of The Girl Child semioticly. METHODS: In the study, semiotic analysis method was used. In the said analysis, the messages in the advertisement message were examined in terms of visual and linguistic indicators. RESULTS: Based on the indicators examined in the visual and linguistic context, it was found that the problems that girls face in their everyday life in the advertisement are a global problem and that girls all over the world are exposed to various difficulties. DISCUSSION AND CONCLUSION: As a result of the research, it was found that indicators such as power, freedom, equality, equality of opportunity were used. The advertisement work aims to raise, awareness about the negative situations experienced by girls in a global sense. From this persective this, the study is also important interms of analysing the indicators use by the messages intended to be conveyance in the advertisement. |

4. | Acute And Chronic Effects Of Childhood Sexual Abuse Aykut Koyuncuoğlu, Döndü Koyuncuoğlu doi: 10.5505/sec.2023.76476 Pages 21 - 29 All forms of neglect and abuse of children are a global public health problem that affects millions of children. More than 4 million children are reported to be neglected or abused each year. Childhood sexual abuse is very common worldwide, and reported prevalence rates range from 8% to 31% for women and 3% to 17% for men, internationally. Exposure to childhood abuse not only causes long-term social, mental and physical health problems in the child's life, but also affects the society. Children who experience prolonged stress in their growth process are likely to develop negative personality and cognitive styles. Exposure to childhood trauma causes many psychiatric conditions such as inability to cope with stress, helplessness, anxiety and mood disorders, and emotional disorders that may affect the development of personality disorders. The aim of this study is to provide information about the short and long-term consequences of childhood sexual abuse. |
